'Women are AMAZING!'

Milind Soman's sinewy biceps and taut abs stopped decorating ramps years ago.

Once one of India's supermodels, Milind gave up glamour, to work largely in the area of fitness.

Milind started organising marathons and other running-related events, participating in many of them himself, nowadays barefoot.

But he calls himself an entrepreneur and also has a number of business ventures -- an event company, an inspirational speaking firm, a content curation business and so on.

Women's fitness activism is where he devotes most of his passion lately.

In his recent memoir Made in India, co-authored with Roopa Pai, Milind writes that in each one of his businesses he has partnered with women because he has much more admiration and faith in Indian women.

He tells Rediff.com that one of the women who always inspires him is his mother Usha Soman, a retired biochemistry professor and now, in her 80s, a trekker and runner.
