The PanIIT Global Conference 2008

What: PanIIT 2008, the fifth annual global IIT alumni conference, will be held between December 19 and 21 at the IIT campus in Chennai.

PanIIT extends invitations to IIT alumni to come and be a part of the PanIIT Global Conference. To facilitate better travel for the IITians, PanIIT 2008 has launched the 'Freedom Package' to ensure easy travel, accommodation and registration facilities for its participants during the 2008 Global Conference. This is specifically designed for the alumni who will be travelling to Chennai from Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune.

Significant features of the Freedom Package:

Early registrants can use the Face2Face feature to register for personal interaction with the speakers at the conference. Moreover, the first 100 Freedom Package registrations get the chance to win vouchers worth Rs 1,000 from Landmark.

Simultaneously, registrants get the opportunity to participate in the Freedom Contest and win three Grand Prizes of Rs 10,000 each. However, the 'Freedom Package' comes with the flexibility of full refund in case of cancellation, if any, up to 15

days before the event. This facility is transferable to other willing alumni as well. The offer closes on September 30.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been invited to inaugurate the Global Conference, and the closing address will be given by Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, while other luminaries  who have confirmed participation for the Global conference includes the founder of Mittal steel, LN Mittal, Carlos Ghosn, Bob McDonald, Prof CK PrahaladP Chidambaram and Stephen Cohen.  

The-three day conference will serve as a platform for the congregation of over 3,000 IITians from all over the world to reestablish old bonds, create new friendships, and network with fellow alumni, faculty, and their families.
