Is the IIM fee hike justified?
February 28, 2008 15:40 IST

Studying at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) is going to be costlier with IIM-Calcutta (IIM-C) and IIM-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) hiking fees.

IIM-C's two-year post-graduate course will now cost Rs 7 lakh starting from the academic year 2008-09, up from the current Rs 4 lakh. The same course at IIM-A will cost Rs  6 lakh, up from Rs 4 lakh.

The other four IIMs are expected to announce similar fee hikes later this year.

Do you think the increase in fees is justified?

Will you now put your IIM plans on hold? Is going for student loan a way out?

Will the hike now put the much coveted IIM degree out of reach for many deserving students?

Should there be a ceiling to which such fees can be hiked?
