Seasonal style for men: Shorts

August 16, 2007

Nothing says 'I'm a cool dude' quite like a pair of well-cut shorts on a man. You need good legs and a confident attitude to pull them off and there are few things trendier than shorts in the summer, teamed with a pair of flip flops.

A look like the one seen here is sophisticated but casual (don't go teaming your shorts with a jacket, though -- the guy seen in the photo can pull it off because he's on the ramp and, well, a model!).

Of course, you will find shorts being sold at practically all men's clothing stores, in sports shops and at roadside stalls. In Mumbai, you can try Colaba Causeway, Hill Road in Bandra and Fashion Street for pairs costing between Rs 100 to Rs 350.

If you're looking at slightly higher end stores, visit Cotton World, also at Colaba Causeway and at Phoenix Mills in Parel. Shorts here will cost you around Rs 500 to 800 -- and if you're looking at over-the-top, be prepared to shell out Rs 2000 and upward at exclusive stores like Lacoste and DAKS.

Colours that are hot for summer are white, khaki and tan. Put on a casual tee and you're good to go!
