What: The Common Entrance Examination for Design 2006, an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, on behalf of the ministry of human resources development, department of education, government of India, will be held on Sunday, January 26.
CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design programmes at the following institutes:
Are you eligible?
You must have any one of the following:
~ Bachelor's degree in engineering or its equivalent in any discipline.
~ Bachelor's degree in architecture or its equivalent.
~ Bachelor's degree in design, equivalent to B Tech.
~ Interior Design Professional diploma from CEPT (five-year programme)
~ BFA (professional course in Applied Art/ Fine Art)
~ GD Art (five-year professional programme)
~ Professional diploma from NID
~ Four-year degree or five-year diploma in Interior Design after class XII
~ You could be a final year student awaiting your result.
How to apply
~ Obtain the application form from the GATE Office, IIT Bombay, on payment of Rs 990 (Rs 495 for SC/ ST candidates) by demand draft in favour of IIT Bombay, payable at Mumbai.
~ You could also obtain the forms via post by sending a request along with a demand draft of Rs 990 (Rs 495 for SC/ ST candidates) in favour of IIT Bombay, payable at Mumbai, and two self-addressed envelopes.
Important dates
~ Issue of forms for postal requests ends: October 21.
~ Issue of application forms at the GATE office ends: October 31.
~ Please send in your completed forms before October 31.
~ Common Entrance Examination for Design: January 22, 2006.
