Entrepreneurs: Win Rs 2,00,000

What: The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode invites would-be entrepreneurs, start-ups and incubators to showcase their business ideas at IDEA 2006, a business plan contest with a prize money of Rs 2,00,000.

The event is conceived by students of the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM-K.

Contest details

~ Business plans are master plans for a business venture that detail the business objective and implementation, resources deployment strategies and the value that will be created, especially vis-à-vis the society and consumers, by the future business project.

~ The business plan can be either for commercial or not-for-profit purpose. The uniqueness of IDEA is that the emphasis is on bankable business ideas, with the added incentive of a possible conversion to an actual business venture.

~ There is also a separate award for the best business plan proposed for the state of Kerala.

~ The first prize is worth Rs 1,50,000, with a total of Rs 2,00,000 on offer, making it one of the biggest business plan contests in the country

Terms and conditions

~ Your team must consist of a maximum of three members.

~ Each team needs to have at least one member who is a full-time student pursuing a business management programme at any business school in India.

Important dates

~ Registration for the event is open until November 20.                           

~ The last date for submission of executive summary by teams is November 25.                        

~ The final event will be conducted on January 21-22, 2006.
