Got a hectic schedule and no time to cook?

Are you the kind who would relish the experience of having good parathas in a homely environment?

If you are in Bangalore, then Sethji Homemade Foods is is THE place for you.

The choice on the menu is limited but each dish -- especially the parathas -- is prepared well.

The place also doubles as an art gallery and houses the paintings and shaayari (verses) of artist Tilak Seth Talab.

One can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. The outdoor setting has a metal roof . Plastic tables and chairs are arranged in a space that is flanked by owner's house on one side, the gate on the other and a low boundary wall on the remaining two sides.

Indoors or outdoors, the ambience is good either way.

What's good

The aloo parathas and gajar ka halwa are definitely addictive -- you'll keep coming back for more!

The methi parathas and onion parathas are good as well enough. The rotis are simple, but superbly done.

The only setback is that the side dishes given are not always up to the mark, but the parathas are such that they can be relished alone.

The chhaas and malai kulfi are mouthwatering.

The damages

A plate of two parathas would cost Rs 30. You can choose from gajar, alu, paneer, methi, ajwain, lacha, onion and more.

The north Indian thali consisting of two sabjis, four rotis, curds and pickle comes at Rs 35, with every additional roti costing Rs 5.

The special north Indian Thali consists of paratha, veg pulao, raitha, two subjis, curds and pickle and comes at Rs 50.

Chaas costs Rs 10.

Gajar ka halwa comes at Rs 20. The small cup of malai kulfi small costs Rs 15 while the large cup comes at Rs 25.

No time to cook?

This place is the perfect hangout when you are late returning from office and cannot afford to waste time cooking. The eatery closes at 10 pm.

You can also parcel anything on the menu and take home the food at no additional cost.

Sethji Homemade Foods is a pretty small place and can accommodate upto 25 people; this includes the outdoor seating space.

You'll find lots of young working couples and bachelors enjoying their meals here.
