Makeup experts Vipul Bhagat and Bharat and Doris Godambe say a normal, healthy complexion needs nothing more than moisturiser and lip gloss.
Skincare specialist Dr Jamuna Pai says a disciplined life, a good diet and regular exercise go a long, long way in ensuring a fit body and healthy skin.
Here are some steps the three say will make your skin glow, just like that of your favourite model/actor:
Always cleanse your skin
This is very important. Treat your skin with respect. Cleanse it twice every day. If you want dash in a little rose water to your cleanser, do. Never forget to cleanse your skin before you go to bed. The pores in your skin need to be open for your body to emit toxins while you sleep. Let your skin breathe!
Water, the elixir of life
Make sure you drink eight to 10 glasses of water every day at the very least. Water hydrates your skin and keeps it moisturised. You might not have realised it, but your skin often functions like a 'third kidney'. Ensure a diet rich in fibre and you are set for a healthy future!
Exercise is the key word
Put very simply, exercise helps get you a rosy complexion. It oxygenates your cells and helps remove body waste through your skin. When you perspire, the toxins of your body are released through the sweat. As far as possible, working outside in the open air helps. Of course, if you are in a city, find a park to work out in. If you can't, then a gym is your best bet.
Soak up the sun
All those who suffer from migraine are exempt from this one. Try to soak up about 10 to 15 minutes of sunlight at least twice a week. Not only is it healthy for your bones and skin, it also helps cure eczema, psoriasis and acne, apart from energising your body. Those suffering from migraine and those allergic to sunlight must make sure you get your dose of Vitamin D. Egg yolks, cod liver oil, fish, milk, cheese and butter are good sources.
Get lots of zzzz
You don't want your skin to look tired, dull, saggy, do you? Well, that's what lack of sleep will do to you. Make sure you get at least seven to eight hours of sleep every day. Say goodbye to tired, puffy eyes. Welcome sleep -- the best-kept skincare secret!
