Aishwarya Rai says she is enjoying married life: an expression that clearly showed on her face as she accompanied her husband Abhishek Bachchan at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto last week.
She was speaking at a media briefing organised by Mumbai-based Wizcraft International Entertainment to announce the Bachchans'
Unforgettable Tour of 18 countries, starting July 2008.
She was asked if she is planning to have a baby, when the moderator at the podium intervened to remind reporters that they should limit their questions related only to the
Unforgettable Tour.
But Ash insisted on answering the question, saying: "I am looking forward to having a baby. I am enjoying my married life, no question about it. I have an incredible husband and life continues."
She implied that marriage does not mean the start of a next phase. "Yes, there are a lot more responsibilities and life is hectic, but it (marriage)
was a very conscious decision. I am very happy. We take life as it comes and take it one day at a time."
Ash and Abhishek chose Toronto to announce the launch of their forthcoming
Unforgettable Tour having developed a special affinity for the city, more so after their last visit in January for the world premiere of
Guru.
"It was very, very cold that evening, something we are not used to coming from Mumbai," said Abhishek. "When we reached the Elgin Theatre and we got out of the car, people had been waiting in that chilly weather for hours. We had a problem walking from the car into the theatre as it was very cold. Just imagine the plight of the audience."
"That," Abhishek added, "left a lasting impression on us. And so whenever we have the opportunity to come here and do any sort of work or an event, it is overwhelming. it makes us happy."
