After playing the glamorous spy in Mr And Mrs Smith, Angelina Jolie has signed on to play Marianne Pearl, the widow of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl.

Directed by British director Micheal Winterbottom, the movie, called A Mighty Heart, will go on the floors in August.

Daniel Pearl, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, was abducted and killed in Pakistan in 2002 by a terrorist group.

The film will be based on Marianne Pear's published memoirs. She was pregnant when her husband was killed.

Marianne has said she is happy that Jolie will play her in the film.
