Now, a sequel to Ardh Satya
August 07, 2006 13:42 IST
Making a sequel is always tough. For one, you have to make sure it is bigger and better than the original.

And if it is a sequel to one of the most acclaimed and boldest films in the last three decades, it becomes that much tougher.

Saab Chai Pani faces that difficulty.

After all, it is the sequel to the National Award winning Om Puri-starrer, Ardh Satya, directed by Govind Nihalani.

Saab Chai Pani stars Sonu Sood, Rituparna Sengupta, Om Puri, Goga Kapoor and Mukesh Rishi, and is directed by Manish Gupta, who earlier directed one of the stories in Darna Zaroori Hai.

Om
Puri plays a DCP, while Sonu Sood plays a policeman.
Om Puri plays once more a victim of corruption who does not succumb to it. However, Sood, who is also a victim, becomes a corrupt police officer because of his poor finances.

The film is being shot, right now, in Mumbai.
