As the UPA emerged ahead as per the latest trends, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Dayanidhi Maran on Saturday hoped that the alliance will get another term in office and Manmohan Singh will be prime minister.

"Thanks to the people of Tamil Nadu for being decisive. People have given a clear verdict," he said here reacting to trends that put DMK-Congress combine ahead in 16 seats of the 39 in the state.

The combine had swept all 39 seats in the 2004 elections.

"I give credit to the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. The mandate... is clear," said Maran, former communication and IT minister.
