Tytler apologises to Sikhs for role in riots

Controversial Congress leader Jagdish Tytler apologised to Sikhs for his alleged role in the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 but claimed that he was totally innocent and it was the media that had hyped stories about his role in the anti-Sikh riots.

"Not even a single affidavit has been filed against me and in fact I have rehabilited more then one hundred people," Tytler

said. He was accused of setting fire to the Gurdwara Pull Bangash in north Delhi.

Tytler's colleague in parliament Sajjan Kumar said, "I am loyal soldier of the party and would abide by its decision." Kumar has several cases of rioting pending against him in various parts of New Delhi.
