Actors Jaya Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt failed to turn up for Samajwadi Party's road show in the Mumbai South parliamentary constituency on Friday. Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was supposed to participate in the campaign in South Mumbai's Muslim dominated areas, was also missing.

Only Abu Asim Azmi, the party's state unit president and candidate from Mumbai North West, was present along with the candidate from Mumbai South. SP general secretary Amar Singh and Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari, who is the party candidate from Gorakhpur, joined the road show at Nagpada.

The heavy police contingent, which walked with the vehicle carrying Azmi, Singh and Tiwari, outnumbered the supporters and the media covering it.

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav ,Sanjay Dutt and Chiranjeevi are scheduled to participate in a rally in suburban Mumbai later today.
