Government sources told rediff.com that the swearing-in ceremony of new government will not take place before May 21.

May 21, is the day when former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by Liberation Tigers of the Tamil Eelam suicide bombers at Sriperambadur in Tamil Nadu.

In view of the serious developments in Sri Lanka and decimation of the LTTE,  the government would not take any
risks, said a source in government.

The Congress strategists have made a long list of independents to take on board in lieu of their support to the United Progressive Alliance government. These independents are meeting members of Congress core group and once their support is finalized they are taken to meet Sonia Gandhi to close the deal.
