The Popular Front, the newly formed political group of the National Democratic Front, will support the Congress-led United Democratic Front in all constituencies, except in Thiruvananthapuram where the former UN under secretary general ShashiTharoor is contesting.

With the Popular Front also opposing Shashi Tharoor, the former diplomat will have only Indian Union Muslim League's support.

People's Democratic Party of Abdul Nasser Madani and the Jamaet E Islami has already said that they will vote against Tharoor and the Congress party in Thiruvananthapuram. Muslim oufits are also in a campaigning spree with speaker after speaker coming out against the candidature of Shashi Tharoor, branding him as a representative of the American imperialism.

Shashi Tharoor's campaign managers have been trying their best to subdue this issue, but the CPI-M poll managers were too smart to connect Shashi with the American and Israeli forces.

Shashi wrote a syndicated column in an Israeli magazine supporting the Israel in its fight against Palestine.
