Welcoming Congress' decision to drop 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar as Lok Sabha candidates from Delhi, Jarnail Singh, the journalist who flung a shoe at Home Minister P Chidambaram in protest, on Thursday said justice to the riot victims still needed to be done.

"If this step can comfort the hurt Sikh community, then it is welcome. If this can heal the wounds of the Sikhs, then it is good. But justice still needs to be done," Jarnail Singh told PTI over phone soon after the Congress announced its decision.

Refusing to take credit for the Congress' withdrawal of the two leaders' candidature, Jarnail Singh said he did not "feel victorious" at all. "I don't want to take any credit. The credit goes to the sensible leaders in the Congress party and the media," he said.
