The Centre will appoint the 'right' advisor to assist Governor Buta Singh during President's rule in Bihar, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said on Tuesday.

"Whatever is right will be done," he said when reporters asked him who would be appointed as adviser.

President's rule was imposed in Bihar on Monday.

Patil was speaking after Lok Janshakti Party president Ramvilas Paswan met him at his residence in the morning to discuss the situation in Bihar.

To a question whether any name had been decided upon for the post, he said, "It is our duty to appoint the right person, you [media] will be informed at the right time."

Paswan said he thanked Patil for the Centre's decision to impose President's rule in Bihar.

He said he asked Patil to appoint an 'impartial' person as advisor who would work for Bihar's development.

"The advisor should not listen to either (Rashtriya Janata Dal president) Lalu Prasad Yadav or Paswan but work only for Bihar. The home minister has assured me that whoever goes there will be impartial and the law and order situation will be a priority," he said.

Meanwhile, Yadav brushed aside reports that he was interfering in the appointment of advisors to the governor

Talking to reporters in Patna, he said he was 'least bothered' about the issue.

"I have not raised the issue of posting of advisors of my choice during my meeting with UPA [United Progressive Alliance] chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil," he said.
