Bhupendra Singh Hooda will be the new chief minister of Haryana.

Hooda was elected chief of the Congress Legislative Party in New Delhi on Friday.

Hooda will be sworn in on Saturday.

Hooda's candidature was opposed by former chief minister Bhajan Lal. His supporters did not attend the CLP meeting in protest.

Within the Congress in Haryana, Hooda has been a bitter critic of Bhajan Lal.

The Congress won a landslide victory in Haryana, winning 67 seats in the 90-member House.
