JD-U rules out ditching NDA

The Janata Dal-United on Tuesday said it would not part ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in Bihar.

Lok Janshakti Party chief, Ramvilas Paswan on Monday hinted that he might extend support to the JD-U and other small parties to form the government in Bihar if the JD-U parted ways with "communal" BJP.

"There is no possibility of the JD-U leaving the NDA," said parliamentary board chairman of the party Sharad Yadav.

Paswan's LJP has 29

seats in the Bihar assembly and is key to government formation in Bihar.

Paswan on Monday wrote to the Bihar Governor that he would not extend support either the BJP or Rashtriya Janata Dal to form the government.
