Planning Commission Deputy Chairperson K C Pant has resigned.
Pant, also a member of the Cabinet Committee on Security, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Atal Bihari
Vajpayee on Thursday before the last
cabinet meeting, official sources said.
The resignation came in the backdrop of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance failing to secure the numbers needed in the 14th Lok Sabha to form the government, they said.
