'This is the end of the BJP'

This is a very comprehensive victory for the Congress. We have worked very hard to achieve our objective and now we are close to it.

The Congress' slogan was not about India Shining. It was about a determined India and we will provide a government for the aam aadmi (common man).

Smt Sonia Gandhi has led the party to its success. Now to question her authority or her credentials is an insult to the people of the country who have given her the mandate. Can anyone go against the people's will?

Smt Sonia Gandhi is the Congress president and there is no debate on the leadership issue. Soniaji had earlier indicated that we should concentrate on the election instead of worrying about who will lead. We will take a collective decision on the issue after we meet other like-minded parties.

This is the end of the BJP.

How long can you fool the people!

India definitely was not shining these last five years. We will continue with reforms but only those reforms which will benefit the people, the common man. And let us not forget, these reforms were introduced by our government.

There is little chance that the BJP will form the government. The Congress has the people's mandate and though it is early, there is little possibility that there will be a huge swing later in the day.

The Congress is not a party that caters to any single community. The common man's happiness is our main objective. It is mere propoganda that we have been partisan to any single community.
