Youth Congress activists today burnt copies of a leading financial in Mumbai to protest against an "objectionable" computer graphic of Priyanka Gandhi, in which she was depicted as a pop icon and wearing western apparel.

The activists held a demonstration at Dadar in central Mumbai and raised slogans against the newspaper for carrying such portrayal of the Congress chief's daughter.

"The graphic is objectionable as it depicts Priyanka in a mini skirt, which is very much against our cultural values.

Such a portrayal of a member of the Gandhi family will not be tolerated. We have demanded action against the paper," a Congress spokesperson said here Thursday.

In the Wednesday edition, the paper had carried a graphic of Priyanaka in a Britney Spears attire, crooning away in the pop icon's style.

The accompanying caption, 'We Will, We Will Rock You' mentions about the youth, numbering of 150 million voters between 18-25 and forming 25 per cent of the electorate.

Titled `Polling Stones of the Election Rock', a small write-up describes politicians, including Jyotiraditya Scindia and Varun Gandhi, as part of the band and refers to Priyanka Gandhi as "the answer to Britney Spears."

It also alludes to Rahul Gandhi: "On the drums is baba-in-the woods."

Earlier this week, Congress workers had burnt copies of Marathi weekly Chitralekha for superimposing photographs of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
