Violence in Kashmir, two killed

Terrorists targeted many polling stations in Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency of Kashmir on Tuesday, killing two persons.

One Central Reserve Police Force personnel was killed when terrorists opened fire at a polling booth in Pazalpora-Raziabad, sources said.

One security personnel, posted at a booth in Arampora-Sopore, was killed and six were injured in a grenade attack, the sources said.

Terrorists also triggered a landmine blast at Bandipora-Sumblar road, critically injuring a policeman and three persons on poll duty, they added.

Terrorists lobbed another grenade in Fazalpora, 150 metres from a booth, injuring a CRPF jawan.

Grenades were also lobbed at polling booths in Pattan, Hyderbeg, Kathpora and Old Baramulla, but there was no casualty.

Terrorists fired at a gathering of about 100 people in Mirgund, Pattan. Many were injured in the stampede that followed, the sources said.

Two BSF personnel were injured when militants fired at a booth in Kreeri.
