Accepting defeat, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Madan Lal Khurana on Thursday accused the Sheila Dikshit government of taking 'undue credit' for the development work done in the capital.

"The Delhi government has taken (undue) credit for the good work like the Delhi Metro and (introduction of) CNG vehicles," Khurana said after results showed that the Congress had got an absolute majority.

"Where does the question of my political future come into the picture here? I have been in Delhi for the last so many years and have both won and lost elections," Khurana said when reminded about his earlier statement of retiring if the BJP got less than 10 seats.

Khurana said he had to fight the electoral battle on two fronts, "one with the Congress and the other with the media, which forecast only 10 seats for the BJP."

Putting a brave front, he said in the 1984 general elections, the party had won only two seats but recovered in 1989. Likewise, in the 1998 assembly elections, the BJP won only 14 seats but bagged seven during the 1999 Lok Sabha polls.
