Yuvraj Singh to miss ODI series against WI

May 27, 2011 17:03 IST

Here is some more bad news for Team India.

After stand-in captain Gautam Gambhir became a doubtful starter for India's upcoming tour of the West Indies with a shoulder niggle, it is learnt that Yuvraj Singh will miss out on the one-day series in the Caribbean.

Yuvraj, who captained the debutant outfit Pune Warriors India in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League, apparently has a lung infection and would require a three-week rest.

The 29-year-old, who was the Player of the tournament in the World Cup, is expected to be fit for the Test series.

It is another setback for Team India, already without big names like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Gambhir.

India plays one T20, five one-dayers and three Tests during their tour of West Indies beginning June 4.
