"If I get the opportunity (to play), I will try and make full use of the chance", Saha told reporters here.
The 25-year-old wicket keeper-batsman said though he was aware that the Test team would be picked today, he did not expect to be selected.
"It is a fantastic feeling. I knew that the Team selection was today, but I clearly didn't expect to be picked. It's a dream come true", he said.
Saha, who is part of the IPL franchisee Kolkata Knight Riders, had played for India Under-19 and India-A teams earlier, but it's the first time that he has been chosen for the senior team.
"After Sourav Ganguly, several players from Bengal had got a look-in in the Indian team, but they could not cement their places. But I will try to perform well to stay there as long as I can", Saha said.
"Before leaving for Nagpur, I will get in touch with Sourav Ganguly and get some tips from him", he added.
Saha, who hails from Shaktigarh near Siliguri in north Bengal, was drafted into the Bengal team in 2007 when regular keeper Deep Dasgupta joined the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). He made his Ranji Trophy debut against Hyderabad the same year scoring 111 not out in the match.
A Mohun Bagan player, Saha was at the club tent where he was congratulated by friends and other players on his selection and a cake was cut to celebrate the occasion.
