As India take on New Zealand in the opening match of the World T20 in Nagpur on Tuesday, they are desperate to break their T20 jinx against the Kiwis.

• India has never beaten New Zealand in a Twenty20 International. They played four games against the Kiwis and lost all of them.
• New Zealand is the only country whom India have not beaten in Twenty20 Internationals.
• Two out of the four Twenty20 Internationals between India and New Zealand were decided off the last ball of the match.
• Then New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum won three man of the match awards against India in consecutive matches, scoring 56 not out, 69 not out and 91.

• Daniel Vettori's 4/20 against India at Johannesburg in the World T20 in 2007 are the best figures by any spinner against India in a Twenty20 International.
• India is in good form of late, winning seven matches on the trot. One more win and India will equal the world record of most consecutive wins in Twenty20 internationals of eight wins in a row -- a record jointly shared by England and Ireland.
• In five Twenty20 Internationals New Zealand have played this year, Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson put on 427 runs for the opening wicket at an average of 106.75, with two hundred and two fifty stands.

• In 2016, New Zealand have scored 62 runs on an average in the first six overs of Powerplay. India managed an average of 45 in the same period.
• In 2016, India's batting mainstay Virat Kohli averages 117.33 in Twenty20 Internationals.li>New Zealand left-hander Colin Munro smashed a 14-ball half-century against Pakistan at Auckland in January, the fastest fifty by a New Zealand player and the second fastest overall in all Twenty20 Internationals.
