Travis Head stole the show with a match-winning century to power Australia to their sixth ODI World Cup title, after beating India in the final, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Opener Head's 137 off 120 balls saw Australia romp home to a six-wicket victory with seven overs to spare after India were bowled out for 240.

Even though he had single-handedly steered Australia to victory with the bat, his catch to dismiss India captain Rohit Sharma proved to be the turning point.

Running back from covers, Head dived full length to pouch an incredible catch to dismiss the dangerous Rohit, after the India skipper miscued the lofted shot off Glenn Maxwell in the 10th over.

Rohit had smashed a quickfire 47 from 31 balls to rally India after the early dismissal of Shubman Gill but his wicket completely turned the innings on its head.

Rohit's dismissal proved to be the key moment as India were never able to regain the momentum. K L Rahul (66) and Virat Kohli (54) stitched together a sedate 67-run stand for the fourth wicket in which they managed just a single boundary from 109 balls.

Here's a look at Head’s match-turning catch:
