India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was ruled out of the ongoing tri-series in the West Indies on Monday because of a hamstring injury.
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked Ambati Rayudu as his replacement in the squad. Rayudu will join the team at the earliest," read a statement from Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Sanjay Patel.

Vice-captain Virat Kohli will take over as captain for the remainder of the series.
Dhoni injured his hamstring while batting during India's match against West Indies in Jamaica on Sunday. He was unable to take the field following the injury and Dinesh Karthik donned the gloves.
India play Sri Lanka in the third match of the tri-series, in Jamaica on Tuesday.
