Karun Nair became only the second Indian to hit a triple century in Test cricket, when he smashed 303 not out on Day 4 of the fifth Test against England in Chennai on Monday.
Virender Sehwag has two triple centuries in Tests and the legendary Indian opener was only too happy to share space of pride with the young Nair, in the list of batsmen with top scores in Test cricket.
“Yay ! Welcome to the 300 club @karun126 . It was very lonely here for the last 12 years 8 months. Wish you the very best Karun.Maza aa gaya!,” Sehwag tweeted after Nair turned his maiden century into a triple, and the marathon effort saw India declare the innings at 759/7 in 190.4 overs.
Among others who showered praise on Nair was former India spinner, Bishen Singh Bedi.
“Absolute 'M' fr Murder n Madras!KarunN drills in2 Eng spinners there's margin fr error whatsoever-& joins Sehwag top of the heap-remarkable!,” Bedi tweeted.
Here is wishing Nair many more milestone-crossing innings!
