Venugopal Rao to lead BP XI against Sri Lanka

Y Venugopal Rao, who was dropped from the Indian ODI team, will lead the 12-member Board President's XI team for the one-off three-day match against Sri Lanka to be held in Bangalore from November 26.

The decision to appoint the Andhra youngster as captain was taken at a meeting of the National Selection Committee, headed by Chairman Kiran More, held in Chennai on Tuesday, BCCI Secretary S K Nair told reporters.

National
selector and former India player V B Chandrasekhar will be the Manager of the team.

Board President's XI team: Y Venugopal Rao (Capt), Dheeraj Jadhav, Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, Munaf Patel, S Sriram, Parthiv Patel (WK and Vice-capt), Kulamani Parida, Amit Mishra, Ranadeb Bose, Gagandeep Singh and Neeraj Patel.
