Karnataka's hard-hitting batsman Robin Uthappa was included in the Indian team for the one-off Twenty20 international against South Africa, to be played in Johannesburg, on March 30.
The match is being staged to commemorate 150 years of Indians' settlement in South Africa.
India made just one change to the 15-member team named for the forthcoming Asia Cup. Sachin Tendulkar, who does not play Twenty20 matches for India, was kept out and Uthappa included in his place.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead the side; Virat Kohli will be his deputy.
There is no place for Harbhajan Singh, with R Ashwin retaining his place despite a lacklustre showing in Australia.
Ravindra Jadeja and leg-spinner Rahul Sharma also retained their places in the squad.
T20 specialist Yusuf Pathan will get a chance to show his batting prowess along with younger brother Irfan Pathan, who impressed Down Under.
The squad:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Virat Kohli (vice-captain), Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Praveen Kumar, R Vinay Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwary, Irfan Pathan.
