India elect to field in second Test

India won the toss and opted to field first in the second Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Friday.

After a delay of over four hours because of a wet outfield, umpires Simon Taufel and Ian Howell declared that play will commence at 1500 local time (1730 IST).

Both India and England retained their squads that played in the drawn first Test at Lord's.

Sourav Ganguly, whose participation was doubtful because of back spasms, was ruled fit and included in the playing eleven.

India: Rahul Dravid (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VV S Laxman, M S Dhoni (w/k), Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, R P Singh, S Sreesanth.

England: Michael Vaughan (captain), Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Ian Bell, Matt Prior (w/k), Chris Tremlett, Ryan Sidebottom, Monty Panesar, James Anderson.
