The Indian Premier League on Thursday announced the sale of tickets for the inaugural match of third edition of the Twenty20 tournament, at D Y Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai on March 12.
Tickets of the opening match, which will feature last year's winners Deccan Chargers and Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders, will also include a spectacular opening ceremony.
The tickets are priced from Rs 500 upwards and fans can avail them online at www.iplt20.com. Tickets for other venues are also available online.
Cafe Coffee Day outlets across Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Vashi and Nerul have been earmarked for the sale of tickets, while fans in South Mumbai can get it from the Rhythm House at Fort.
Tickets will also be available at each of the main entrances of the D Y Patil University and the Dental College entrance and the RAIT entrance.
"We are very happy to announce the sale of online tickets at www.iplt20.com and look forward to the cricket-loving fans across India extending their support to IPL 2010," Lalit Modi, Chairman and Commissioner, IPL said.
"The IPL 2010 is happy to be back home and we promise a non-stop cricket carnival for the next 45 days," he added.
The IPL will be played over 45 days across India and feature 60 games, with the addition of a third place play-off.
