Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the play-offs of the Indian Premier League after their last league match against Delhi Daredevils in Bangalore was called off due to heavy rain on Sunday.
IPL: Rain scuppers Bangalore's hopes of a second-place finish
In a rain-interrupted game, another round of heavy downpour stopped the proceedings in the second over of the second innings and it allowed enough time to Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli to snatch a few moments with his actress girlfriend, Anushka Sharma.
Kohli spent some valuable time in the VIP box chatting with the Bollywood actress, who was in the stands to cheer for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Bombay Velvet actress was attacked by the Twitterati for Kohli's failure with the bat in the cricket World Cup semi-final against Australia.
The couple was later joined by Delhi Daredevils’ star batsman Yuvraj Singh. The 33-year-old Yuvraj had appealed to cricket fans to respect Test captain Kohli and Sharma's personal lives.
'To all our real Indian fans who support us in our wins and loses ! Let's respect @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma personal life,' Yuvraj posted on his Twitter handle.
Bangalore had to chase 188 for victory at the Chinnaswamy stadium but the match was called off at 7:35 pm (IST), handing the Bangalore outfit a place in the play-offs, with 16 points.
