Somebody needs to tell Adam Zampa that cricket is not a contact sport as the Melbourne Stars bowler was lucky not to lose a few teeth during Saturday's Big Bash clash against Melbourne Renegades.
The leg-spinner was bowling to Renegades batsman Darren Bravo in the 13th over of the match, when the batsman hit the delivery straight back down the pitch.
The ball collided with Peter Nevill's bat, who was standing at the non-striker's end, only to get diverted at the face of Zampa who was trying to field the delivery.
After hitting Zampa's nose, the ball bounced directly and knocked the bails off the stumps, dismissing Nevill, who had no time to return back into the crease.
Good for the 23-year-old leggie that he appeared relatively unhurt after being hit in the face, receiving treatment for a bloodied and potentially broken nose.
The incident drew a lot of fans to Twitter to make light of the young spin bowler's unfortunate injury.
