Tendulkar junior a ball boy at Wankhede

Twenty-six years after Sachin Tendulkar did duty as a ball boy at the Wankhede stadium, his son Arjun performed the role in the iconic batsman's farewell Test against the West Indies, in Mumbai, on Friday.

Interestingly, Tendulkar did the job of ball boy at the age of 14, in the India - Zimbabwe match during the 1987 World Cup at the Wankhede stadium.

The 14-year-old Arjun, who was part of Mumbai's under-14 squad last year, was on the ground when the cricket legend was batting in his landmark 200th Test and also when he was caught at slips by Darren Sammy off Narsingh Deonarine on Friday.

Sachin Tendulkar scored 74 off 118 balls, in what could probably be his last innings for India.

His farewell Test attracted a number of celebrities to the stadium, all wanting to have one last glimpse of his batting that saw him aggregate 15,921 runs in Test cricket.

Ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi and Bollywood stars Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza were among those present to watch the legendary batsman in action.

Even Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was present at the stadium on the Day 2 of the Test.
