Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar's father Manohar passed away in Bangalore, at the residence of his daughter, sources said.
He was 88.
"It happened suddenly. He was sitting on a chair and did not respond when spoken to. A doctor was called who pronounced him dead," said a source close to the former cricketer.
Gavaskar, who is in Dubai, is on his way to Bangalore, the source added.
He passed away at the residence of his daughter Kavita, who is married to former Test star Gundappa Viswanath.
