The Sydney Test between India and Australia will go down in the history of Test cricket as one of the highest run-scoring games which produced a result.

It is the first time since 1990 that both sides aggregated more than 1600 runs in a result-oriented game. Interestingly India was involved in that game too.

Another remarkable coincidence is that on both occasions, the home sides benefitted immensely from one let-off on the opening day.

At Lord's wicketkeeper Kiran More dropped Graham Gooch on 36, and later the batsman went on to make a massive 333.

At Sydney Andrew Symonds was given a life by umpire Steve Bucknor on 30 and as a result the Aussie went on to make an unbeaten 162!
