# Sri Lanka is the first team to post wins in all the three games in the present competition -- two against Bangladesh and one against India.

# Sri Lanka's net run-rate is +0.614 while Bangladesh's net run-rate is -0.626.

# Sri Lanka's nine-wicket triumph is their 26th in 28 games played against Bangladesh.

# Sri Lanka's overall ODI record reads: Won 276, Lost 294, NR 23 and Tied 3 out of 596 contested - winning % 48.42.

# Tharanga and Jayawardene were involved in a stand of 215 for the first wicket, which is a record for the first wicket against Bangladesh in Bangladesh, obliterating the 143 between Herschelle Gibbs and Graeme Smith for South Africa at Chittagong on March 9, 2008.

# The 215-run partnership is a first-wicket record for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh, bettering the 201 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara at Karachi on June 30, 2008.

# The partnership is the highest for any wicket against Bangladesh in Bangladesh, outstripping the 205 for the third wicket by Pakistan pair, Ijaz Ahmed and Moin-ul-Atiq at Chittagong on October 29, 1988.

# Jayawardene (108 off 117 balls) recorded his 12th century in ODIs -- his first against Bangladesh. He has posted nine hundreds on foreign soil and three in Sri Lanka.

# Jayawardene enjoys an excellent record -- all his twelve

hundreds have resulted in the victories.

# Both the openers scoring hundreds for Sri Lankan against Bangladesh in the same innings -- a feat happened for the second time - the first occasion was the 2008 Karachi ODI when Sanath Jayasuriya (130) and Sangakkara (121) had made hundreds.
