Sreesanth fined for showing dissent

Temperamental pacer S Sreesanth is in the dock after he sarcastically clapped at Rajasthan Royals opener Michael Lumb and umpires, during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.

The incident took place after the Kings XI pacer was hit for a boundary off a free-hit, after being adjudged for two successive no balls. After the match, match referee S Venkataraghavan fined Sreesanth 20 per cent of his match fee.

The Kerala pacer has pleaded guilty to a Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.3), which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision."

Kings XI pacer was also involved in the infamous slapgate with Harbhajan Singh during the inaugural edition of the IPL.

Sreesanth lost his cool when in the third over of Rajasthan Royals' innings at a score of 28 for no loss, an erratic Sreesanth was called for two successive no balls and was hit by Lumb for a boundary off a free-hit.

Infuriated at the umpires' decision, Sreesanth first clapped at Lumb and then at the umpires.Television grabs later on showed team-mate Yuvraj Singh talking to the pacer, asking him to concentrate on his bowling.
