After playing hide and seek with the electronic and print media of the capital, India's star opening batsman Virender Sehwag finally showed up at Maurya Sheraton hotel in New Delhi and posed for pictures along with his wife Aarti.

Clad in three piece black suit, Veeru and Aarti, who wore a heavily-decorated 'lehenga', obliged the media for almost ten minutes and gave full opportunity to the photographers to capture the moment.

Aarti said that she was happy to have married Sehwag who "is a simple and loving man". While Sehwag said that he is glad to have Aarti as his wife.

"I am now looking forward to our honeymoon," he said before thanking the media present on the occassion.

According to close relatives, Sehwag and his wife would be leaving for Europe on April 26 for a month long honeymoon.

"They would be going to England, France, Switzerland, Germany and some other countries during this period before returning to India," Latika, who handles Sehwag's accounts told rediff.com.

Expressing their anger in the manner the newsmen were treated by Sehwag's family members during his wedding, the scribes present on the occasion refused to take tea and snacks offered by Sehwag to register their protest.

Delhi police had made elaborate security arrangements for the function which barely lasted ten minutes. Sahib Singh Verma, labour minister in the Vajpayee government, who had been hijacking Sehwag ever since his return from Pakistan, was conspicuous by his absence.

Members of the Indian cricket team who are in Delhi are expected to attend the reception being hosted by Sehwag and Aarti later tonight.
