Flamboyant India opener Virender Sehwag has signed a deal with English county Northamptonshire to play in the Twenty20 championship this summer.
Sehwag has played for Leicestershire in the English county before. On signing with Northamptonshire, the explosive batsman said "I am looking forward to the T20 campaign and I am delighted to have joined the county."
Northamptonshire chief Executive Mark Tagg hoped with the coming of a batsman like Sehwag his side will do better.
"This is absolutely fantastic news for the club and shows everyone that we want to continue our year-on-year improvement.
"We hope this shows our fans we are serious in our ambitions to become the best county cricket club in the country," he was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.
Northamptonshire had reached semi-finals last year.
