India scored a comprehensive 337-run victory over South Africa in the final Test to win the four-match series 3-0 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, in New Delhi, on Monday.
Chasing 481 for victory, South Africa offered stubborn resistance, but the home side struck back in the final session, claiming five wickets, to bowl out the visitors for 143 runs in 143.1 overs.
The 3-0 series win also enabled India to climb to No 2 in the ICC Test rankings.
India had beaten South Africa inside three days both in Mohali and Nagpur either side of the rain-ruined second Test in Bangalore.
