Rohit Sharma etched his name in the annals of cricket history after becoming the first batsman to score two double-hundreds in One-day Internationals and a record 264 runs off 173 balls, smashing 33 fours and nine sixes, in the fourth match of the just-concluded series against Sri Lanka, at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, earlier this month.

Obviously, there was reason to celebrate. And he did after returning to Mumbai by throwing a party for his India teammates teammates, the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team and a few Bollywood celebrities.

Sachin Tendulkar, the first cricketer to get a double hundred in ODIs, congratulated Sharma on becoming the first to achieve the feat twice. In doing so, Rohit surpassed Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, who both scored a double ton each.

'I didn't get to see his innings, but getting another double ton is special and I feel very happy for Rohit. A perfect form of match practice and preparation before the Australian tour,' said Tendulkar, who attended the party with his wife, Anjali.
