Baroda take two points in a draw

A spirited performance by Baroda earned them two points on the final day of the Elite Group B Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra which ended in a draw in Pune on Friday.

Resuming at the overnight 328 for four, Maharashtra lost their remaining six wickets for just 59 runs.

Dhruv Mohan, who was batting on 87, went on to score a fabulous 101 though wickets fell around him. First to go was Ranjit Khirid (6), out lbw after adding just five more runs.

The wrecker-in-chief for Baroda was Rajesh Pawar, who claimed five wickets for 79 runs in 37 overs.

After taking the vital first innings lead of 59 runs, Baroda began the second innings on a more authoritative note, slamming 189 for one in 48 overs.

Opener S Parab crafted a well-made century, studded with 12 fours off 136 balls in 207 minutes. At stumps, Parab and K Powar were undefeated on 100 and 64 runs respectively.
