Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh will boast of a cricket stadium of international standard by 2007, Sports Minister Brijmohan Agrawal informed the assembly on Thursday.
Responding to a question by Mr Mohammad Akbar (Cong), he said work on the stadium began a few years back but halted midway.
"The work will restart very soon," he assured.
Mr Agrawal said steps were also being initiated to acquire 21.71 hectares for the stadium and its surroundings.
