Rain washes out Day 2 in India 'A' match

The second day's play in the final four-day cricket match between India 'A' and South Africa 'A' was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain.

Heavy overnight rain followed by a cloudburst in the morning left the outfield completely wet at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium in Dharamsala.

Umpires S K Tarapore and G A Pratap Kumar held their first inspection at 1100 hrs. The heavens opened again and another inspection was carried out a 1300 hrs after which the officials called off play.

The loss of the second day will dent the South Africans' hopes of squaring the two-match series, which the Indians lead 1-0.

The South Africans dominated the first day, scoring 264 for four in 70 overs.

The opening day also saw the pre-lunch session being washed out due to wet outfield.

Ashwell Prince was batting on 17 and Justing Ontong on 22 at close of the first day.
