Ricky Ponting won the Ceat International Cricketer of the Year (2005-06) award while his highly successful Australian team won the Team of the Year award.

Australia made a clean sweep of the international rating awards when Mike Hussey edged out India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni to clinch the Debutant of the Year award, it was announced at a media conference in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, the adjudicator for the awards, said the Indian players had a good chance of claiming next year's honours as the Australians are taking a three-month break from cricket and would be seen in action only October during the ICC Champions Trophy.

For the first time since its inception a decade ago, the ratings have been expanded to include Indian domestic cricket, and specifically the performance of players in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group.

Mumbai all-rounder Ramesh Powar won the Ceat Domestic Cricketer of the Year award.

Tamil Nadu's S Badrinath won the corresponding best batsman award while top honours for the best bowler and most promising youngster were claimed by Uttar Pradesh's Praveen Kumar.

Ratings domestic XI: W Jaffer, D Mongia, S Badrinath, A Muzumdar, J Martin, V Samant, R Powar, S Trivedi, Praveen Kumar, Joginder Sharma and S S Lahiri.
